You can never imagine the power of branding. The one big way that can make you the most powerful person on earth and idolized by many. I am going to use one lady as an example today, Victoria Beckham, also widely known as Posh Spice. This hot lady here did not become famous because she was married to soccer star David Beckham, neither was it because she was part of a popular group called Spice Girls but because of an undying belief for branding since she was a teenager.
Victoria Beckham’s ambition was not just to be better than her mates or even be a famous singer but to become a world brand. It’s not how good she was that mattered, it’s how good she wanted to be! What was interesting in her quote was that she didn’t compare herself with George Michael or Mariah Carey, rather she saw the fame of Persil Automatic as her yardstick. For your information, Persil Automatic is a leading detergent brand in UK, very famous indeed! This may sound like a joke to many but just take a second to see where her imagination has brought her today.
Now, back to building a brand for yourself, have you realised how important this is now? Ever wondered why John Chow can post a “Hello Good Morning!” and still attract 60 plus comments while you are trying so hard to compile some resources for your readers and only to get a few “Hey thanks.. Good stuff..”? Branding. Ever wondered why ShoeMoney can tell people how he got sick with uncooked shrimps and still have many hot babes posing in his t-shirts? Branding! What I am trying to point out here is that, if you have created a brand for yourself, its likely to stay with you for the rest of your life and people idolize you for that, no matter what you say and what you do. So, if you want to create your own brand in the blogosphere, better start getting creative and be a chick magnet!
To be honest, this is something which has been bothering for quite awhile too. There has been much controversy and contradiction running in my mind about having great content. Popular bloggers don’t need great content to attract people, they just gotta keep telling people how popular they are. Newbie bloggers are constantly trying to come up with good content because they always hear from popular bloggers that content is king. Why are they trying so hard? Because they want to be popular as well!
Now… Why are we running in circles? Brand brand brand my friends…

Great article again, I have been looking into relaunching my blog and branding. How I planned to brand my blog within budget.
1) Great and Catchy Domain name. It has to be .com ( I made a mistake.) $6.99
2) Good Hosting Provider . http://www.hostgator.com ( Baby Plan is Great)$9.99 per month.
3) Great theme. ( CarloCab’s UBT is by far the best ) $67.00
4) Mascot. ( I think this is or can be very important). I am happy to provide http://www.peiprofit.com’s reader’s some personal mascot for FREE. Only 10 people Can Get this.. These designs will be one of a kind and will never be given away to anyone and you will hold copyrights to these.

Indeed branding is very essential. And it’s very hard to make the impression of your business how you want it to be. It’s not hard to brand yourself, it’s hard to brand the way you want it when people heard your name.

Great points. Posh Spice has the same thing going for her as Paris Hilton, or Madonna. They are their brand, they have the monopoly on being themselves. It’s a lesson we can all learn from, brand yourself, come up with your own personal brand, and you have your own little monopoly.

Oddly enough I barely knew who she was until the ultra annoying round the world trips with soccer hubby.
All the top (well known – not to be confused with still good) bloggers spent yrs building on good content before they were able to rely on their “brand” to continue driving them through the crap they spew now.

If you can build a powerful brand of your own you can go a long way. Some of the big names in this biz can release a product and they know it’ll sell based on nothing more than their name.
