SEO Spams Warning Signs

Awhile ago I made a post called:

Spamming is Not a Good SEO Technique

Now I am going to show you guys some actual captured images to help you better identify and comprehend these spams in the future!

Hidden Text

While this may seem perfectly normal and you wonder where the hidden text is? Look out for the following image.

Exposed! Don’t be fooled by any of these and most importantly don’t try to fool Google on this, unless you want to get your website or blog banned!

Alt Image Tag Spam

This guy is trying to rank well for keyword “Cabbage Soup Diet” and see how he is spamming his image tags? Please… Say no to this!

Meta/Title Tag Stuffing

The image itself says it all. Seriously, there is no need to go to such extend to gain higher rankings. Now I believe you have a better understanding of these spamming seo techniques and be sure you avoid so as not to get banned by Google by accident… Or on purpose!

Cheers!

    Hi Ben,

I checked your site it seems you are free of “make money online” and “Make Money Blogging” stuffing, lol.

I see you have a new plugin intalled, I mean the one that send us an email thanking us for our valuable comment, lol. I have that plugin and tried to use it but it didnt work on my site, long time ago. I will try now, maybe I can find the problem now.

Yeah indeed, spamming tags is the fastest way to Google slap.

But those who get slapped because of this have earned it.

I’m glad someone brought this up Ben. I have noticed keyword stuffing a lot and you have to wonder what in the world they are thinking. Not long ago I noticed a site with hundreds of keywords strung in the footer. They used a light off white color so it was almost invisible. The funny thing is the sites doing this loose any rank they may of had and can be removed from the search results altogether. They’re desperate or lazy I guess.

    Hey Ben,

I did a post somehwat like this too when i first started SEO. the hidden text (even tho clever) is the wrong way to go! i’d say keywords is good maybe a phrase or a few keywords but when you start “stuffing” that’s when you start going to the black hat area which is a no-no, unless you’re actually looking to get penalized by the search engines.

    Pei you the man!

    Hi Ben,
It’s hard to believe that some websites still do this. It seems so “last century”. :) But it makes it easier to compete when other people shoot themselves in the foot. :)
I’m wondering how you found this website, since it shouldn’t be on google with this kind of spamming. But then again, some websites do this and seem to get away with it… at least for a while. Not good long term thinking.
So how did you find this website?

PS. A friend of mine tried the “Cabbage Soup Diet” about 10 years ago. Hard to believe that it is still around…

The most important thing people forget to realize and take into consideration when doing online marketing/seo techniques is that their audience are real live human beings, not googlebots.

Disregarding your audience becomes a transparent mistake when people land on your site. Successful sites maintain their rank because they (first and foremost) appeal to their audience with quality and innovative content and THEN follow it up with promising SEO techniques..

It’s incredible that people still try to gain high rankings via inserting hidden text. It’s such a short-term strategy and will inevitably result in your site being excluded or severely downgraded.

For me is seems oddly appropriate to use stuffing with a fat loss site, especially one with such a pumped up cover dude. Pumping iron, stuffing keyword, pumping iron, stuffing keyword… Yeah, it’s workout alright! Spammers just want to be fit, for sure they are misunderstood in their lifetime.

    Ben,

Nice find! I have seen some blogs with Spam in title tag. but not see in image tag. Do you know does google catch it immediately or it can find it only after somebody complains about it?

that guy was seriously spamming big time he wrote cabbage soup time at least 12 times in the image but the sad thing is why do people go to extremes to cheat the system as well as google because if you get caught your going to be penalized heavily as well a possible suspension for all eternity with the major search engines bit i have a question how did you come across that site as well as make you search the sites flammability jk
