Need a break from work? Think facebook is all about friend, friends and friendsssss?
Take a good look at these top 10 hottest games on Facebook and add some fun to your work.
1. YoVille – By Zynga
The company prides itself for having games for everyone – including casino, board and party games which can be found on Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Friendster and Hi5.
This title gives Sim City a good run for its money. Users can create their own avatars by customising the character’s outfits and appearance and then letting their avatars explore the virtual town. Make friends with other avatars that are milling around by snding them a private message or inviting them to play a game of tic-tac-toe. Forgot to send your best friend a birthday gift? Make amends by forking out some virtual money to send her some flowers or a box of chocolates.
2. KickMania! – By The Broth
Perth-based web publisher and developer with more than 26 Facebook applications under its name.
Loathes that colleague of yours? Here is the chance to inflict some bodily harm on him, virtually. Using a rag-doll avatar, you get to kick the guy around in this virtual space and watch him flaik as he flies through the air or crash into walls. You can also choose the strength and angle of your kick, as well as where your foot will land on his body. Aiming for the derriere is fun. =P The app will also tell you how far you have kicked your friend!
3. Word Challenge – By Playfish
Headquarted in London, this game developer company is worth some US$21 million to date.
Think you are a master of words? Do battle in this game for the crown of Resident Wordsmith. Like in the traditional Boogle, users snag points by unscrambling hidden words from letters placed randomly, racing against the clock. This is one of my personal favourite! You may join me on facebook and start challenging me on this, I am getting quite good at this!
4. Flixster – By Flixster (lol)
With six million monthly users, Flixster is one of the largest movie sharing communities on the Web.
Think you know what is hot and what is not in Hollywood? Know exactly what dresses Angelina wore to the past give Golden Globes? Answer questions like “What disease did Nicole Kidman have in Moulin Rouge?” and “Which actress plaed the wicked stepmother in Ever After?” to earn points. Warning: Once you start, it is hard to stop!
5. Pacman 2.0 – By Unit 501
Started last year, this game developer has some 10 games under it belt.
Ain’t nothing like some old-fashioned arcade-loving. Just like its 1980s version, this Pacman version requires you to zip around a maze while avoiding ghosts. Eat up a ghoul and your points increase four-fold.
6. Ant City – By Games!
Started by two avid gamers who wanted to play arcade games on social networking sites. Now what beats games for gamers, by gamers?
Ever wanted to burn people up using a magnifying glass? No? Me neither – until this game! After using a giant magnifying glass to hunt for victims, players are prompted to hold down the left mouse button to set the victims ablaze. Mac users hold onto their Apple key on the keyboard while clicking the mouse. Seeing them vaporize in smoke and fall to ashes – it sure whets our sadistic appetite.
7. GeoChallenge – By Playfish
Pop quiz: In which part of the world can the Mediterranean Sea be found? Where is Afghanistan?
This app tests your geography skills by getting you to match the country’s flag to its name and pin-point the specific locations of countries and cities. Cute 2D avatars perk up on otherwise staid geography exam paper.
8. Casino Games – By M&C
A social games company that develops and publishes video-based games on social networks.
Hone your roulette or blackjack skills here online! This app offers 14 card, board and casino games. Here is the cool part: You can save the game and return to it later.
9. Busy Burger – By Games!
A rip-off of the popular Diner Dash game. In this title, you relive your summer job as a fast-food restaurant waiter, serving burgers, fires, drinks and fried chicken. Simply select the items that the customer wants, assemble the orders and serve the meal. The tricky bit. You have to get the job done in under 10 seconds. Fail to complete the job and lose points! casino arcade games
10. Commander 2 – By Games!
This is Facebook’s version of the popular strategy boardgame, Risk. Here, users lead their army into battle in attempts to capture the enemy base. Not only do you need to ensure that your troop is well-fed and fighting fit to quash the foes, you also need to plan your defence strategy. No child’s play, tis game requires grey matter for you to excel.

Hi Ben,
Those games are cool, but with my new strategy to commenting all the way to be on the Top Commentators, this will not leave much time to play.
Did you saw what happened in Chow´s Blog Top Commentator lately? lol.

Hi Ben. I’m not big on Facebook. I have a hard time getting into it. I do get stressed with the app invitations in my inbox. Most seem like nothing more than a list building ploy. I haven’t tried any of the games yet. I did request you as a facebook friend though
@ Marketing Business Review: What happened to John Chow´s Top Commentator? I was looking for the story but can’t find it. Right now it shows TYCP Entertainment Magazine (76) as top commentator.

Hiya Ben! Usually I ignore all these facebook apps, because they want insight in one’s profile, and the friend’s profiles too, to boot! Games are another story though! Pacman II sounds great! I’ve sent you a facebook friend request, would that enable me to get to your games once you’ve added me as a friend?

Nice post,
It’s pretty cool to see how facebook games have evolved in a year.
Now we have farmtown, farmville, happy aquarium, zooworld , etc..
In the next few years facebook games could kill out most MMO’s like WOW.
