Great suggestions. I always need help with my resource box. I like the tip on using your best info at the end of the article, and the second best at the beginning. I hadn’t thought about using that info to funnel people to my blog.

"Create an enthusiastic tone in your resource box" I totally agree with this point, you really have to sell the benefits of a reader visiting your link and in order to do that you need something upbeat, positive and catchy. I regularly post to article directories and to date have publsihed over 500 articles and I find that despite all the stick it gets from SEO experts, it can be a very effective way of getting traffic.

Good primer on article marketing and resource boxes. I think that the important thing is to remember to always track and test your boxes. After all, everything can be improved and different niches sometimes respond differently to different call-to-actions.

hey Ben,
Great suggestions for making the resource box count. As I see it, if someone is going to put the work into writing a good article and submitting it, they ought to put the work into the resource box as well.
I think the idea of offering something free would definitely increase click-through rates, but does everyone have something free to offer? Have you written another post on things you can give away free?

Far too often I see articles with no resource box at all! This always amazes me.
