Affiliate marketing offers earning opportunities, making it as one of the fastest growing industry in the Internet today. It produces billions of dollars worth of income yearly. That is why many people are getting involved in it. However, most of them are just getting into the jive of earning money without a concrete plan. You will have no strategies to be implemented, no guidelines to be followed.
In case that you are planning to get yourself involved in affiliate marketing, bear in your mind that it is a serious work. Though it is one of the easier ways of earning additional income, it still requires effort, perseverance, and a clear plan of action from your starting point up to the finish line.

The Commission
Of course, that is the bottom line. How much will you earn from a sale? There is no point of endorsing a product or a service if you will not earn from it. Traffic on the Merchant’s Website
Try to know the traffic that the merchant’s site is receiving. You can use this standard for you to determine which you will affiliate. If a certain website ranked in the top 100,000, this means that website has a good volume of traffic and it has vast amount of affiliates. If it is ranked below 500,000, then it means you get either a little opportunity or nothing at all. Always conduct some research if the merchant’s site is getting good web traffic. It will help you decide where that gold mine is hiding.
Pay-out Periods
It is important to know how often you will receive your paychecks. There are merchants that release the commission of their affiliates in weekly basis. Others are monthly or quarterly. Your target will not be met if your financial resources will run out.
Tracking Cookies
Usually, potential customers will just be making some visit and will not make any purchase immediately. It is important that the merchant’s website use cookies to track these customers so that you will be able to get the credit once he returns and buys anything in that site. The longer these tracking cookies last, the higher the chance you will be paid.
Merchant’s Promotional Resources
In advertising, promotional resources are vital elements. Check the type and quality of these promotional materials that they are offering to their affiliates.
Look if there are articles or reviews posted in free article sites, special offers, and free samples.
Sometimes, it is wise that you use your own advertisement strategies. There are affiliate programs that use the same ads over and over again. By placing some fresh ads, the impression of the prospect is that it is a new product.

Yes Ewen is a super affiliate. I even attended one of his seminars. I am promoting a few of his products but strangely, not much interest received from people at least from my sites. Perhaps you’re faring better so that’s good.

The earnings potential of affiliate marketing is great, but I’m concerned about all the loads of fake blogs that are being set up to drive trafic…one post I recently read clearly stated that it is better to have 100 blogs earning you $1 a day, rather than 1 blog earning you $100, and people are openly discussing how to setup and get content from foreign language sites and the like for these “flogs” (short for fake blogs)

“Adsense or other Ads” was the punchline. I suppose affiliate products will be more difficult to mess with, but the human monkey is a truly amazing creature, that can outdo even the octopus when it comes to squeezing through little gaps….hahahahah

The best chance of success is to start creating content optimized for Adsense Ads or Yahoo Ads. That way u can start to monetize ur site with little traffic as well. After the site has grown and gets some descent traffic u can weave in the affilite links.

finding affiliate sites with reasonable pay out periods is in my opinion essential. Some sites won’t pay out until you reach $100 but others will pay out more frequently. In my opinion it’s good to have a mixture of pay out periods as that way you keep your cash flow going and it is also a good motivator to keep going

The commission level and ensuring that the product does convert is the definitely the most important thing. Sometimes it’s worth losing a little money initially to test the product by buying traffic through AdWords as the last thing you want to do is spend time developing the site, building links to it, only to find out 6 months down the line when high rankings start to come through that the product or service that you’re promoting doesn’t really convert.

I think this is a good post for starters. However, I think online buyers today are smarter. They don’t just to buy what they need. They also consider items that can make money from it.
Besides, most visitors become allergic when they learn that you are selling something.

In my humble opinion getting traffic is basic, if start up into affiliate marketingand put it on your blog.Rule no 1 is same inline niche and keywords.It’s an aple to apple .Getting targeted traffic and focus is not easy, you have to do research almost everyday to check on google keywords and trends to justify with your content blog to redirect all those traffic that came from search engine.Testing one at the time of traffics with SEO is a headache to be honest, but if we have gone through that exercise and deep research we know what works and don’t.
Building traffic with SEO I think is the most common sense, since people go to search engine and look for what really interest them, from that point those unique visitor has to be maintain and to do what ever we have to do to keep them coming back, like giving free e-book with quality of course and provide them with technical answer appropriately .This relationship is engaged to withstand and becoming our loyal readers, next level is to expand our readers, by expanding the topic though still under the platform same niche, to spread the net and get the fresh fish.Repeatedly by doing this within more less 6 months we can get steady traffic, another 6 months to increase more and convert them into sales or if not then we can tie up with them giving comments, to strengthen our links in search engine.
