Picking a hot niche can sometimes be overwhelming, but it is a must for any affiliate marketer. If you don’t pick a hot niche, you will probably struggle to make money online.
When people have been struggling to make money online for months or even years, and still have only seen moderate results or no results, it’s almost a one hundred percent certainty that they chose the wrong niche market. When you choose a profitable and hungry niche, you may still make a ton of mistakes, but you almost can’t help but make money. It’s pretty much guaranteed. Why? Because there is so much traffic to your site that all you have to do is get your products and/or links in front of even a little bit of that traffic and you will start seeing sales.
The first thing you want to look for when you conduct market research the right way is this – are the people in this niche trying to solve any kind of problem or make their lives better in any way? If the answer to that question is yes, then that’s probably a good niche to get into.
Once you have determined that you have a niche that is ready to buy, all you need to find out is if there is traffic available to be had. Meaning, are there enough keywords that have a decent search volume but reasonable competition. For that, you will have to do some research in different places like on Google adsense and doing some searches on the search engines, mainly Google.

You’re probably right that the likelihood of making money in popular niches are greater than in those that are not hot but I do believe that if you’re not doing things right you can still manage to make no or very little money even in popular niches.

Choosing the correct niche is critical to your success. Start out by checking the potential traffic your keywords are getting and how much competitio there is before beginning your blog or building your website.

You will need to check adwords tools to see how profitable are the potential keywords you want to use. The more expensive ones with some 2000 searches per month with no too much competitors will be the best to maximize your profits with less traffic.

If it’s a first website then I always suggest picking a subject that you are comfortable with…. as time goes on you can start picking things based on hotness and competition rather than just what you know about.

Another thing to remember is that some things (debt reduction, for example) is a temporary economic related niche and will likely decline when the economy improves. I think that a niche should be something that is still “small” (no competition) but is likely to expand (explode?) in a few years/months.

If you build MFA sites (niche sites) you will need at least 10 or 20 sites to make a decent amount of money, with 50 or 100 dlls per site per month its more than enough to make a decent amount of money.

Picking a niche is easier than most people give it credit for. Everyone seems to think you need to blog about a “serious” topic in order to succeed, which is not the case. Sometimes a bizarre idea can go a long way.

Before choosing a domain, I first research the demand of keyword at Google Adwords, then check for the number of competitor by searching the keyword at Google. Then I will buy domain names with my keyword on it.

And one of the profitable and hungry niche where anyone can really make an income is the “make money online” niche. It’s true it’s too much crowded and competitive but it really can’t feed the demand.

It is a little crowded out there but I think you can always find quality niche topic. The internet community is bigger and bigger every day so every webmaster could profit from it. We all should just lean back and try to put good content to the world.

I started a blog a few years ago which was eclectic; about anything and everything. I’ve kept at it and have built up decent traffic (500 hits plus a day). However because it’s not in a particular niche, I have made almost no money from it.
What I’ve realized from a niche site I’ve built is that you don’t need huge traffic to get some buyers. You just need some people who come looking for something in particular. If you’ve joined the appropriate affiliate program and have that on your site you’ll make a sale sooner or later.
Being a niche and optimizing for keywords related to it will bring in much better quality traffic, I believe.

I think the trick to making any money online is in the keywords you choose. Whether its a popular niche or one that’s a bit more specialised and less competitive if you can find keywords that are attainable to reach a page 1 position you stand a much better chance of getting a return for your time and effort.
