You make an excellent post when it comes to authority sites outranking bogs on google. It makes perfect sense to submit your seo optimized article to an authority site like ezinearticles.com instead of posting it on your blog. A far more effective strategy is to submit the article to an article site and link back to your blog. You blog post could be a review of a product in a niche for the keyword you are targeting.

Interesting suggestions… I have never tried making money online through article marketing but it seems like it’s definitely a worthwhile avenue to pursue if you already have a decent website with affiliate links set up. I’ll think about this more and come back to this post when I’m ready with affiliate links.

I think it can be, but having a program to spin the article and then submit to multiple sites is more important then it once was.

Yes, article marketing is a good way to get quality backlink and unique visitors to your site. But If it is done properly.Your article should contain useful information that create interest while reading.

Article marketing can be beneficial but having written and posted over 500 high quality articles the traffic i get is still quite minimal compared with comment blogging. I probably get around 500 visits a month from article marketing, which sounds huge but it isn’t that large for the time and effort invested.

Great post and I like your blogs layout. I think article marketing has died out since the good ol “bum marketing days” a few years back but I’ve found that good high quality articles can still spread virally easily.

Sometimes hiring someone to write a AWESOME article for you will definitely pay off. Of course you will have had to experiment with different writers until you find one that can write Pillar articles at a reasonable price.

Yes agree, that article marketing is not the best method for getting traffic. Although in the past that has been one of the method used by many bloggers.

For me Article Marketing if still be a good source of backlinks and traffic but you need to have a High Quality Article for this. I saw a blog that has hundred of traffic per day from Ezine Articles alone but not sure how many article he has.

I think that another way to earn money through article marketing is by going the link building route – offer to write and submit articles for small businesses to help them build links for a particular keyword. There’s great SEO value for a fraction of what other companies will charge for their link building strategies.

Links from article directories are definitely worth their weight in gold, you just have to watch it that you do not fall into the duplicate content trap. Create unique content to go onto the article directories, don’t just use content from your blog or website.

Article marekting has probably got to be the most frustrating thing I’ve ever done online. Ezinearticles and other article sites take forever to approve articles in hope that users would go for the paid option. So far so good, i only use Goarticles.

P.S: The guest post I submitted to you was meant for Ezinearticles but after 2 weeks of waiting, I decided it wasn’t worth it thus my looking for somewhere else to post it.

Another Strategy with Ezine Articles or Goarticles is to write your article on a really popular subject like Akai, or Internet Marketing and then have the link to your Keyword site that on a different subject. This way your ezine article will not outrank your website in the search engine results and you will still get a ton of links.

I would say that authority website would definitely get better feedback due to higher traffic to that website but it would gradually higher value attached & reputation built from perspective of readers.

I was listening to an interview with the co-founder of eZine articles and he said that you have to write 250 articles to get the same traffic as you did 3 years ago with 100 articles and 5 years ago with just 10 articles.
I guess that’s why the top writers are actually hiring ghost writers to get all of that content in now.

I knew that eZine Articles was big but I didn’t realize Google put a higher value on it as well.
Chris Knight (a founder of eZine Articles) said recently that it takes about 250 articles to get the same traffic that 100 articles would get you 3 years ago so it does take a bit of work these days.
Chris also said that “similar” content is not the same as “duplicate content” so they won’t penalize you for re-writes as much as you may think.
Wasn’t there also something about not putting your keywords in the title as you would in a blog? I believe it’s because then eZine actually gets the rank for it in Google.

I prefer blogging, instead of article marketing. Anyway, article marketing is pretty profitable. It all comes down to keyword research, good quality articles, and a good offer to promote. IMO, it’s better to submit articles to your blog though, and work on getting good rankings. But then again, everyone has a different opinion.

I always submit unique articles but it is a lot of work! Lately I have been reading a lot of views that say it is ok as long as it is your own content and you should provide a link to your original article? Has anyone tested this?

Article marketing is hugely popular at the moment, so is getting really diluted. We’re starting to find that starting a blog (or several) and posting simple content to it is actually easier than writing articles at the moment! Blog posts aren’t long enough to submit to article directories, but you can still slip your keywords in a lot of the time and post a lot, regularly.

I don’t really get traffic from article marketing. I submitted some articles on ezinearticle, it got posted, but rarely I get traffics from it. Bulk of my traffic is from search engines and forums.

Interesting and I do use articles already but it looks like i will need to be using blogs as well. They seem to be taking over.

I agree. Article marketing really can make money. but the writer should know for sure how to do it correctly. One thing that need to remember that Article directory is edited by human.

The important thing to do for who want to get quality back link is submit unique article to free article directory.

What about using automatic submitters? Do you think it is profitable. I know they are expensive.
