1. You Can Now Decide When You Want To Work
You don’t have to wake up in the wee hours of the morning so that you can get to work by 9am, anymore. Want to start “working” on your Internet Business at 10am? 12noon? 3pm? 6pm? 9pm? or 2am? Its your pick! Because you’re own boss now and you have no one to oversee.
2. You Can Work From The Comfort Of Your Own Home
All you need is a computer with a modem and internet account. Your computer is your office!
3. You Don’t Have To Get Stuck In Traffic Jams Anymore
You’re going to be working from home – so there’s no need for you to go anywhere. You’ll typically be saving at least two hours of your time each day by not having to travel to and from your physical office during rush hours when everybody else is going to work or heading for home.
4. You Don’t Have To Rent Expensive Office Spaces
Your home is your office. This alone will save you big bucks in rental each month, thus making it possible for anyone to start and run an internet business.
5. You Don’t Have To Attend Time-Consuming Office Meetings Anymore
There’s no necessity for you to meet anybody face to face in an Internet Business. If you’re used to attending endless meetings, imagine just how much time and effort this will save you!
6. You Don’t Have To Conduct Meetings At McDonalds Anymore
No longer do you have to buy your prospect a drink and a meal, try to convince him to join your MLM business, buy insurance or Mutual funds from you and after 2 hours of talking, he rejects you!
7. You Don’t Have To Replenish Your Expensive Make-Up All The Time Or Keep Buying New Clothes To Wear
If you were a lady, you would probably spend an average of 20-30% of your salary on make-up and new clothes each month. Imagine the amount of money you will be saving each year if you run an internet business and make money online.
8. You Don’t Have To Call Anybody
With an internet business, there’s no necessity to make phone calls at all in order for you make your money. Thus you save a bundle on phone call charges and you don’t even need a mobile phone to be in business.
9. Your Internet Business Can Be Fully Automated To Run On Its Own
Some internet business models, like blogging, can be fully automated. Once they’re properly set up, you don’t have to lift a finger operating them!
10. You Will Be Able To Spend More Time With Your Family
If you don’t see your children when they’re awake due to your current work commitments, you should seriously consider starting an internet business.
11. Your Internet Business Can Be Created Around Your Hobbies, Passion Or Expertise
This is my favourite reason for anybody wanting to start an online business especially blogging. Tell me what your passion is and I will show you whether you can start a business with it.
For example, if you’re into Formula 1 racing, you can brainstorm and come up with a unique product for F1 and sell it to millions of fans aruond the world, the internet knows no boundary!
12. You Can Operate Your Business In Your Pajamas
Since you’re working at the comfort of home, what beats working in pajamas?
Now are you ready to make money online in pajamas?

Why Target The US?
According to statistics dated back in 2007, the number of internet users worldwide count up to 1.25 billion. US and Canada has 233 million users while Asia has 460 million users. Why should we still target US when there are more users in Asia? Simply because Americans are used to buying on the internet! In fact, they were the first to get used to online commerce. Amazon.com sells hundreds of millions US Dollars of book titles they carry every year, with the majority of their customers being Americans. Even at this recession stage, the internet doesn’t and in fact it is beginning to boom with more people trying to make money online. Look at John Chow’s recent income report, his income grew despite the recession and he is calling “Recession? WHAT RECESSION?”

These are all the reasons why I’m trying to build not just a blog but a business as well. I wish i knew before what i know now, then things will probably be easier and I’m already doing everything you’ve just listed, except the make-up part of course =P
the internet is probably the biggest yet in achieving the freedom you’re looking for as far as independence and being your own boss and the US and Canada is the target for it because majority of the people hardly go out but instead sit at home in front of their computer shopping or surfing the web for what they need (i’m one of them)
good post Pei and good luck with the new year and hope you make lots of money

These are the reasons I am working on setting up my business online as well. I still have to work a job during the day to pay bills, but hoping this business will work out well in this new year for a full-time income.
Great post and looking forward to reading more in the future.

Definitely! Don’t be silly to quit your day job rightaway just to work full time online. Wait till your online business settles down first..

Not exactly a whole load of advantages, there are pros and cons as well. The big plus is that we know there ARE many people trying to make a living online now.

Internet marketing is, (even with the incredible success some have had so far) still a vast untapped ocean of opportunity!
However, I question the wisdom of telling people that they can replace their jobs while sitting at their kitchen table in their underwear. (This by the way, was the tag line for a direct marketing course sold by a guy named Jeff Paul back in the late 90’s and I guarantee you with all the money he made off of that course, he didn’t do it sitting at his kitchen table in his underwear!)
The internet marketing life style is a great one. It affords the business owner freedom to set his own hours and can, once the biz is up and running, allow him or her to take time off to enjoy family and other interests.
The problem can be though, that people just want the lifestyle and aren’t prepared to do what it takes to make it happen.
This business is just like any other business, It takes some dedicated hard, focused work to get it spooled up. once there, you can ease off a bit. I think, again, like just about anything else in life, those that really enjoy the business and love to do what they are doing will be the most successful.
How much time should a person be willing to spend to get one of these business off the ground?
How much money?

But unless you really make it big you still have to make your own coffee, because your wife will be out spending all your hard earned money and she won’t allow you to have a good looking secretary.

Ya thats true pei. What i believe is earn money online is the only business where you get perfect rewards for your work. here you are not working for anybody else but yourself only. nobody is ruling you and you are your own boss.
now about recession, i agree with you that it does not affect make money online. why? because the more people sitting at home they will try to get something from internet and thats why make money online will be never affected by recession.
by the way nice post and looking for next also. keep writing nice stuff.

Ben, I tool believe that Internet industry will be recession proof for at least next few years. But, for any new comes it is not that much easy to start making money from their Internet venture just after its start. It may take few months to few years to get some good income.

That’s my goal! I started my blog a couple months ago and it’s doing OK, and I’m also trying to come up with an idea for an internet business. I don’t think I’ll make as much as I want to from a blog alone. The main challenge is coming up with time to start an internet business when I already have a full time job I need to concentrate on.

Yeah, I can’t agree with you more. Great list. And to be honest, while all around the media we hear oh the recession, the recession, my online business is gaining new profit records. And also one of the great pluses is that you can just switch to a different niche, if you don’t have time or knowledge to chase another niche – hire someone to do that for you.
Cheers,

Some other very important methods & ideas to remember
Customer service is one of the most powerful means of retaining happy
recurring customers. Offering incentive
programs, customer loyalty programs, and sales incentives is another powerful way to build a powerful customer relationship while branding your company as a success. This will allow you to develop long lasting relationships with your customers and clients which in turn should help spread your successful name via word of mouth- THE Single MOST POWERFUL MARKETING METHOD

With my job I sit between both lines of work the traditional job and also the internet and I can see the internet based businesses really did much better than the traditional ones did this year because of the economy.

Working at home is a wonderful opportunity. I feel so very blessed to be able to do so and would never want to go back to the nine to five grind that corporate life had to offer me.
