Since I began this blog, I have been following a daily schedule to market my blog. Many believe that content is king, but I believe there should be a balance between content and marketing. What is a good blog without anyone reading it? This is based on a full day.
1) Check My Email – I would check my email as soon as I am logged on to see if there are any queries or any updates. It is important to reply any emails as soon as you can to build better communication.
2) Update My Blog And Comments – I would approve any comments that I have and be sure to reply to them next. Then, I would update my blog post with content that I come up with while lying on bed the previous night!
3) Start Visiting Blogs And Commenting – Next, I would visit blogs which I usually do and I have a list of them on my computer. I try to leave some grateful or constructive comments and hopefully I would be able to hit the Top Commentator position. This gives some good exposure to your blog and help keep the blogs you read active. Win-win situation. Get A List Of DoFollow Blogs Here
4) Logon To MyBlogLog – Check out who visited my blog and joined my community and I would probably add them as contact. Look out for blog communities related to my niche and I would join them if I haven’t. This a very good way to gather members for your community and also get your name out to as many people as possible.
5) Twitter – Works the same as above
6) Participate In Forum Discussion – I will visit forums, especially Warrior Forum and DreamTeamMoney. This is a good way to learn some skills through reading the discussions that are going on and I would try to help out whenever I can. Through this, I will be able to market my name and blog to these forum users. Would take about 2-3 hours on this section. If you can, you should invest time on this. Get A List Forums With DoFollow Signatures Here
7) Articles Marketing – This a weekly or sometimes fortnightly method I use. Writing and submitting to article directories is too content draining for me because I also need some content for my own blog. But this has gotten some good backlinks and traffic.
8 ) Submitting To Blog and Web Directories – Simple as that. I submit to about 10 per day. A comfortable number that Google can accept. Get A List Of Them Here
9) Check My Technorati And Alexa Ranking – See if there are any updates and I will set a goal for myself to reach by the next update so I can improve constantly.
10) Social Bookmarking – Read My Post Here
11) Work On Free Traffic Exchange – While this is not a thing that most people recommend, I believe this has driven me some good targeted traffic to my blog and gained some loyal readership. Get A List Of Free Traffic Exchanges Here
If time allows, I will repeat Step 1 to 11 at this point of time. This should take up a good whole day to market your blog.
Just slightly 1 month ago, I was still a wandering soul in the blogosphere with no idea what to do and so I pick up my skills slowly by learning what other successful bloggers have done. Within this one month, I have a drastic growth in my result. Though it may not be the best out there, but its something that keeps me wanting to go on.
Some of the technical results that I achieve within this month of work:
1) Rose approx. 8 million positions in Alexa (I will share what I have done in the later post)
2) Rose approx. 5 million positions in Technorati
3) Gained 70 plus members in MyBlogLog Community
4) 500+ Followers on Twitter
5) Gained Thousands Of Backlinks (I will share this later as well)
6) Sold 3 Banner Spots and 2 Sponsored Reviews
7) Google PR3
8 ) Ranked No. 2 out of 219,000,000 on Google for “How To Build A Blog Community Page”
9) Adsense Earnings increased by about 300%
10) Most importantly, made lots of new friends in this community
There are just so much I can say about myself. Now, I leave it to you my dear readers to share your piece of your story by commenting below. Let us know what have you done to reach where you are today and see if I missed out any steps.

Ben – Congrats on the improved rankings! Good Work!!!
I like the daily schedule you have. I wish I could do as many things as you do. I currently work during the day and have a hard time fitting everything in to a day (like most people). I will have to try a few things that you suggested above.

If you only have half a day.. just pick out the few essential ones and stick it maybe.. anything is good as long as it exposes your name.

That is a lot of stuff to pack in, sounds like it would take ages but it’s all very good marketing. I think a schedule is a good idea and something I should start using myself to make the most out of my time.

Great list of activities, I’m proud to say that I’m performing all of them on a daily basis
Just one remark – the TAB index of text fields on your blog is “messed up”.
If you select the “Name” text box (when leaving comments) and then press the “tab” button on your keyboard, the “search” field will be selected. You might want to have that one fixed
Try it and you’ll see!
Cheers!

Wow did you not only write the true success to becoming successful with running a blog… just wow speechless. I will definitely work into incorporating all of those techniques that you have listed. I only cover about 3 of them and I do receive a good amount of traffic I cant imagine what would happen if I did more and all of them. Make a nice paycheck. Very good stuff man.

this routine is really really helpful and is excellent for newbies to get into the habit of doing. I enjoy this part despite the fact that it can become a little boring. I especially like your comments about posting gradually so that google doesn’t consider you a spam site

The first thing that I always check is statcounter.com and Google analytics. I am obsessed with checking statistics and I need to stop that.
