V.S
All the while in boot camp, my mind hasn’t left Pei Profit Dot Com and my readers. I have been thinking of ways to relate my unique army experience with blogging. Here are some of my reflections.
Teamwork
In the army, whenever we want to transport some items for a short distance, we would stand in a line and pass the item from a person to another until it reaches the end. This ancient method greatly save time and effort in completing the task. Relating it to make money blogging… It would be easier to make $1 from 1000 people than to make $1000 from 1 person, right? Meaning, don’t put all your eggs in one basket and you should spread the task to as many opportunities as you can rather than to do all the work yourself.
Viral Marketing
One day, I decided to have a little game with the human psychology. I stood alone in the parade square and a group of soldiers was about to walk past me. Just as they were about to pass me, I looked up and stared at the sky. Without any hesitations, all of them looked up as well. Why? They were probably curious about what I was looking at. NOTHING ACTUALLY! So, this is what I called viral effect! Just do what you do and play with the curiosity of others and you see the virus set in…
Discipline
This is one important thing that I have to emphasize. Blogging is also about discipline and routine work. Everyday, you have to spend time writing sometime and also follow a schedule to market your blog. Here’s my blog schedule if you missed it out. If you decide to slack one day, you will probably lose the trust of your readers as well. So, keep blogging and stick to your routine!
Rewarding For Results
I do not have to say much about this. You do something well and you deserve reward for it. That gives us better motivation to strive on and perform better the next time. So, reward your readers with any means you can! Throw them link love, organise contest and give out prizes, talk about them on your blog and reward them with the top commentator status if they help to keep your blog active!
Working Towards The Same Goal
If you can take control with your writing skills and “manipulate” the psychological aspect of your readers to work towards the same goal as you. You’ll be far ahead of many other bloggers. By doing that, you’ll be able to click very well with your readers and results will surface very very soon…
I hope I am not talking nonsense… =P

Hi Ben,
I’ve been trying to work toward my goal and I wish I can have more time plus more experience so I would be able to get closed to the goal. I still have to spend time to read to get more knowledge and informations. I also have problem on writing to blog, I can’t get its complete in a short time. Try to stick with my schedule but most of the time I could not follow.
(P.S. It’s little dark on your army uniform, can’t really see your face.)
Thanks

Hi Ben,
I agree and it’s definitely a no-nonsense topic that you are sharing to us. Having some degree of discipline in doing your task in whatever field is a must especially if you wanted to be successful in your goals.
Keep on sharing!

I agree with that. Why focus on 1 if there are many waiting for you. Be patience, start with small things before going to big deals.
Thank you!
Cool! You make fool of bunch of army! ahaha

The Viral Marketing reminds me of how, anytime you have out a camera, if you are taking pictures of something, other people with cameras are likely to follow your lead and take photos of it too. If you observe vacation photographers in a touristy area, you will notice it happening.

Ben,
You obviously did a lot of thinking in the camp. I like the idea of getting everyone to stare at the sky. And did you put that photo up just to impress the ladies?
