If you have a make money online blog, and you want to dominate the search engine, then you need to do a lot of guest posting. If you are not John Chow, or if you don’t care about branding yourself, you can still make a lot of money by ranking well in the search engine. I will explain why you need to do a lot of guest posting later. First off, there is no way you can rank well with competitive phrases such as “make money online” in the search engine if you do not put any effort in it. What I mean by effort is that you need to put over a year or two of work into it. Are you disappointed? Most make money online bloggers are because they end up quitting after a few months. It is good that they quit because if you stick around through rough times (ex. I-want-to-quit feeling), then you will do well. So can you really do well just by sticking around? Not really if you don’t have a strategy to do well. A very effective strategy is guest posting on relevant blogs. Not just any blog, but blogs that also talk about make money online. Generally, the author of the blog you are guest posting in would let you put up an anchor text link of your choice to your blog. You might be thinking to yourself, “Can’t I just post comments on blogs that are doFollow to get backlinks?” To simply answer that question, they are not effective at all. Even if the dofollow blog is about make money online, the author can change his or her policy at anytime to nofollow. Some bloggers go back to nofollow policy because they get tired of an increase in spam. When you put a backlink in a guest post, the only way you will not get anything out of it is if 1.)the blog no longer exist or 2.)the blogger decided to sneak a nofollow tag on your link. Maybe I missed a few other reasons, but most likely these are rare cases regardless. To really survive in a really big generic niche like make money online, you really need to network with others. What better way to network than to guest post and make friends? Be very patient in the link building process because nothing happens overnight. Don’t quit, and stick to a good strategy so you can get far.
