How To Add A “Tweet This” Button On Your Blog

Posted by: Lukasz on 26 June 2009 - 6 Comments

There is a very easy way to add a “Tweet This” link to your WordPress blog posts. It involves no plugins. For those of you who don’t know, a “Tweet This” link gives your readers the option of easily posting a link to your post to their Twitter account stream. That’s a good thing because all of their Twitter followers will then be introduce to you and your writing. Basically, a “Twit This” link equals more traffic and readers for you and your blog. You can see mine below this post.

To post a “Tweet This” link on your own blog, simply copy and paste the following code inside the WordPress loop found in the single.php file of your current theme. Or, if you’d like to have it where mine is, you can post it in the MainTemplate.php.

<a target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow” href=”http://twitter.com/home?status=Currently reading <?php the_permalink(); ?>” title=”Click to send this page to Twitter!” target=”_blank”><b>Tweet This!</b></a></span>

That’s all there is to it, really. Simply copy and paste the above in your loop.

Good Luck!

How To Write A Great Press Release

Posted by: Lukasz on 23 June 2009 - 7 Comments

A press release is intended to convey information about an upcoming or ongoing event or to make another sort of statement to the media. When you are writing a press release, keep in mind that many media sources receive a large number of press releases each day, so it is important to keep the information concise, interesting, and accurate. The press releaseis a hook, and a well written factual release will generate positive publicity. When writing a press release, it is an excellent idea to think your way into the mind of a reporter, making sure that the relevant information is clearly outlined in a way that is not excessively promotional.

General formatting rules for a press release include using a clearly legible, clean font such as Times New Roman or Arial, sizing it appropriately, and double spacing it. “PRESS RELEASE” should be centered and written in bold at the top of the document so that a casual glance will reveal the nature of the communication. A press release should always be sent out on a company letterhead, with contact information listed at the top and bottom. If a company letterhead is not available, acompany logo should be added so that the document is clearly an official communication. Press releases should always be checked for spelling and grammatical errors to ensure that they make a positive impression on the recipient.

A press release presents chunks of information in an easily accessible fashion. The press release should lead with a brief header, much like the headline in a newspaper. The header is an opportunity to grab the journalist and pique his or her interest in the rest of the content. Keep it short, informative, and interesting. “Meet famous author Howard Zinn at acocktail reception on December 16th” is not a good headline, because it is too wordy; “You’re Invited to a Reception with Howard Zinn” is better.

Following the header, the first paragraph should detail the quick who, what, where, when, why, and how of the press release. This portion of the press release is the appropriate section in our example for detailing that the event is a cocktail reception in the Hoover Library on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Draw the interest of the reader so that he or she is interested in more detail, included in the second paragraph. In our example, the second paragraph may detail Howard Zinn’s credentials, the reason for the reception, and other details that flesh out the report. Finally, close with a brief paragraph that wraps up the release and reiterates the pertinent information.

Introducing Canadian Web Hosting

Posted by: Ben Pei on 14 June 2009 - 8 Comments

What is the most important factors when deciding whether a web host is good or not? There are 3 major factors which I recommend you to look at when choosing a web host.

1) Credibility
2) Ease of Use
3) Customer Support

Let’s take a look at Canadian web hosting, this company has been around since 1998 when the internet was in it’s prime and is up and running up till today. This gives a big clue to whether a company is credible.

Next, setting up your web host and website is just within clicks away. They also provide a comparison chart where you can compare side by side which web host plan suits you more and it helps you make your decision easier. Something which you can consider on top of this is the price the web host company offers. Canadian Web Hosting’s plans ranges from the cheap $3.95 per month to a reasonable $15.95 for pro users.

Lastly, the company offers live customer support, which is the most important aspect when making your decision. I am sure you do not want to be stranded in the middle of the night having big problems with your web host. This 24 hours live chat system will help you solve your problem any time, any day.

Head over to http://www.canadianwebhosting.com and take a look at what the company has to offer.

How To Mass Unfollow On Twitter

Posted by: Lukasz on 27 May 2009 - 15 Comments

First, I wanted to update on the new Pei Profit Blog twitter account that I have created not a long time ago.

I am now followed by 2,189 people and I’m following 2,160! Pei Profit Twitter

Yes, I have already passed the 2,000 follower mark in such a short period of time and much faster than I expected. I had to delete some of the people that were not following me back so I could have the extra space to follow more people. The TWITTER ONLINE SYSTEM must really be working.

I have seen many people across many forums ask how they can unfollow people on twitter. Especially, the ones that are not following them back. We all know that there has to be a better way than having to have to go through each person and press the “remove button.” And there is.

Personally, I use Twitter Karma. On Twitter Karma, all you need to do is put in your Twitter login and press “Whack.” Depending on how many followers you have and how many people you follow, the program will spit out all the people that you are following and also the ones that are not following you back pretty quickly. You can mark the ones that are not following you back and press “Bulk Unfollow.” This will remove those people from your Twitter instantly.

Another mass unfollow tool you can use is called TwitIn. It’s a twitter app for following and unfollowing twitter users in bulk. The site also displays your rating based on certain criteria. You can bulk unfollow 50 twitter users at a time and follow up to 25. This is another nice tool to increase your twitter followers and flush out users who do not follow back.

Increase Twitter Followers Part 2 of Many More

Posted by: Lukasz on 23 May 2009 - 9 Comments

My twitter experiment is going well. I am still gaining new followers everyday from tweepme.com.

I am still following 2,002 people but now I am getting followed by 1,751.  My Twitter Account

The problem is that not everybody that I am following is following me, that’s why my follower ratio is disproportionate. To receive more follows from tweepme.com, I will have to unfollow the people that are not following me so I can follow more people that will follow me back.

Once I get my ratio closer to 1:1, I will be able to follow more people over the 2,000 limit since I can only follow 10% more people than are following me.

I said that I will try ViralFollowers.com on my last post, but I did find a different service that works exactly the same way but it has a much bigger potential for gaining thousands more followers… plus it’s got a really cool video that really pumped me up :) It is called TWITTER ONLINE SYSTEM that was created by Alvin Phang.

I have seen an increase in my Twitter followers when I started using it right away. The potential is pretty much unlimited.

Don’t forget to unfollow the people that are not following you unless you really want to follow them, and good luck using the Twitter Online System. Hopefully, I will be past my first 2,000 followers within a few short days!

Increase Twitter Followers Part 1

Posted by: Lukasz on 18 May 2009 - 20 Comments

Twitter has grown in popularity almost exponentially since its arrival on the web. It’s very important to have many followers on Twitter since it will provide you with lots of free traffic. You may be wondering just exactly how you get followers. Of course, the first and obvious step is to begin communicating with other twitter users. This can be as simple as conversing about a website that is beneficial to you, a blog that interested you, or any current events.

Ben has almost 6,000 Twitter followers and all that following has provided Pei Profit with lots of extra traffic. I have started a new Twitter account to see how long it will take me to get to 5,000 followers.

The account was started on May 1st, 2009. As of right now it already has 1,411 followers and I am following 2,002 people.

Of course, following random people and getting follow back is not the best way of gaining new followers since they are all random and many may not be intereseted in your blog or service for example. To follow so many people and get so many followers in such a short period of time with almost ZERO work, I used TweepMe.com It’s a service that makes you follow all the current members and in return, they automatically follow you. There are already over 4,700 members on the site. Of course, you can always unfollow whoever you want later.

I will next try Viral Follwers to see how well it works.

Picking a Niche For Your Blog

Posted by: Lukasz on 14 May 2009 - 28 Comments

Picking a hot niche can sometimes be overwhelming, but it is a must for any affiliate marketer. If you don’t pick a hot niche, you will probably struggle to make money online.

When people have been struggling to make money online for months or even years, and still have only seen moderate results or no results, it’s almost a one hundred percent certainty that they chose the wrong niche market. When you choose a profitable and hungry niche, you may still make a ton of mistakes, but you almost can’t help but make money. It’s pretty much guaranteed. Why? Because there is so much traffic to your site that all you have to do is get your products and/or links in front of even a little bit of that traffic and you will start seeing sales.

The first thing you want to look for when you conduct market research the right way is this - are the people in this niche trying to solve any kind of problem or make their lives better in any way? If the answer to that question is yes, then that’s probably a good niche to get into.

Once you have determined that you have a niche that is ready to buy, all you need to find out is if there is traffic available to be had. Meaning, are there enough keywords that have a decent search volume but reasonable competition. For that, you will have to do some research in different places like on Google adsense and doing some searches on the search engines, mainly Google.
